I'm not going to waste your time with a lot of talking. We all have things to do!
Dive right in, see what things I had to have completed in order to get my business on track to becoming profitable.
Do you have a hobby or skill that brings you income? Are you creating and/or distributing products or providing services in exchange for money? That's great but my question to you is,
IS YOUR HUSTLE LEGIT??
Here are ten (10) things you need to have secured to ensure you have your business in order:
A 'Doing Business As' or DBA certificate. This gives you the right to legally do business in your state under your business name
S Corp, LLC, or Corporation. You need to have your business set up in one of these ways (NOT a SOLE PROPI) you'll need this for tax savings, as well as to obtain business credit in the future.
Business Bank Account
Professional Photos. of yourself, your products, services, and workspace if possible
Elevator Pitch & Promotional Video. You should have a 30 second (or less) verbal pitch that explains what you do. Create a video so that people know what you do
Website or landing page. Do not rely only on social media! send ppl to your site or page and let them see all the ways to connect with you from there (linktree, milkshake, wordpress have free options)
Payment Processing. Paypal, square, stripe. You NEED to have official payment channels other than Cash app or Venmo. Even if you don't process credit card payments you can create invoices/estimates and track your sales.
Calendar and/or Planner. You will have to manage your time, and plan out content, and pay taxes. Office Depot, Walmart, Target, all have large wall/desk calendars for less than $10 and a variety of planners and organizers.
Notebook. we are 3 times more likely to complete something if we write it down. Starting with this List! Grab a pen write a title and date then number it 1-11.
Graphics. You need business cards, flyers, content for your social media, etc. I use Canva and it's a lifesaver!
Get up and do it!! This list is useless if you don't start getting things checked off.
